I will take my stand at my post,
Station myself on the tower;
Looking for the heavenly host,
I am not knowing what hour.
Because concerning my complaint,
Waiting for the Lord to respond;
With a vision without restraint,
For making it plain from beyond.
Writing a vision making it plain,
So he may run by who may read;
The wisdom and knowledge to gain,
With the caution that one should heed.
The vision waits appointed time,
To hasten the end not to lie;
Serving as judgment over crime,
Assures that righteousness will comply.
Behold, his soul is lifted up,
It is not upright within him;
Living by faith, he drinks a cup,
That fills him with spiritual vim.
An arrogant man never rests,
As he transgresses on a wine;
Evil thoughts in his mind infests,
The glory of God cannot shine.
His greed reaches down into hell,
Like death he is never satisfied;
As he gathers up in a spell,
In Satan he is glorified.
