Put away malice and deceit,
All hypocrisy and slander;
Be more positive and upbeat,
Think of Christ as your commander.
Like newborn babes desire milk,
You may grow into salvation;
A feeling being smooth as silk,
Making you a new creation.
You have tasted the Lord is good,
He is a gracious cornerstone;
Doing as you righteously should,
And thinking of how you have grown.
A living stone refused by those,
But precious in the sight of God;
And of the people that He chose,
That worship to honor and laud.
Like living stones are being built,
For being a holy priesthood;
Completely free of sin and guilt,
The sacred sacrifice you stood.
I will lay in Zion a stone,
Chosen cornerstone and precious;
The One God Himself glory shone,
Shining brightly and so gracious.
So whoever believes in Christ,
Will not be committed to shame;
But willing to be sacrificed,
As they go about to proclaim.
