Not many of you were that wise,
When considering your calling;
With worldly standards in your eyes,
A woeful birth caused your falling.
God chose a foolish world to shame,
And to make the shame become strong;
As the humbled start to proclaim,
By rejoicing in praise and song.
God chose what is low and despised,
For bringing to nothing that are;
As believers become baptized,
Shine brightly like a morning star.
As no human being might boast,
Should brag in the presence of God;
But honor the Heavenly Host,
Worshipping Him to praise and laud.
Because of Him, you are in Christ,
Who became to us with wisdom;
Righteousness to become enticed,
To redeem us for His Kingdom.
Let no one who boasts be glorified,
Boast in the glory of the Lord;
Praise the one who was crucified,
And humbly walk in one accord.
