With the merciful that you show,
To the upright and blameless man;
The Lord ultimately will know,
The compassion that fills your plan.
For the purified that you deal,
Purely with the crooked may seem;
Unsavory to some that feel,
Blunt and rude to the extreme.
You have saved a humbled people,
But your eyes are on the haughty;
Because they ignore the Gospel,
Being immorally naughty.
For the Lord remains as my lamp,
My God who lightens my darkness;
Feared by the harlot and vamp,
That is exposing their starkness.
With God, I run against the flock,
And I can leap over a wall;
Knowing God is there where I walk,
And catching me before I fall.
For His way is the perfect way,
The Word of the Lord proving true;
Guiding me so I do not stray,
My shield and refuge I pursue.
