I thank our Lord for the strength,
Who appointed me to His service;
Persevering at any length,
When feeling down under distress.
Before I was a blasphemer,
Being an insolent opponent;
To be a deceptive schemer,
A persecuting abstinent.
But I received mercy and grace,
For my ignorant unbelief;
Compassion of Christ did embrace,
In giving spiritual relief.
The grace of the Lord overflowed,
With His faith and love found in Christ;
Convinced me while it bestowed,
Wise to why He was sacrificed.
He is worthy of acceptance,
Since He came to save the sinners;
And has given me confidence,
Assure others to be winners.
I received grace for this reason,
That I display perfect patience;
Through the Father also the Son,
And the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
No longer concerned about strife,
Because of glory for the Lord;
In giving me eternal life,
Everlasting in one accord.
Unto the King of the ages,
The God of glory and honor;
Because the Book of Life pages,
Has listed me as a fawner.
