He has dealt well with His servant,
Teaching good judgment and wisdom;
Showing a love that is fervent,
Prepared to enter His Kingdom.
For the knowledge that I am taught,
Gives faith to trust His commandments;
In the trueness that I have sought,
Reflects on holy achievements.
I was stricken and went astray,
But now I am keeping His Word;
I learned how to trust and obey,
Upon the Scriptures from the Lord.
The Lord is good and doing good,
By teaching me all His precepts;
For doing as to what I should,
Keeping His spiritual concepts.
The insolent smear me with lies,
As they have devised against me;
But His Word has opened my eyes,
For all the deceit I can see.
Their hearts are unfeeling as fat,
But I will delight in His Law;
As I remain His diplomat,
No longer scarred with any flaw.
It is good I was afflicted,
So that I might learn His statute;
Learning that my sin convicted,
That started to spoil my fruit.
The Law that comes upon my ear,
Is better than silver and gold;
That has taught me how to revere,
As with clay, the potter does mold.
