I speak to those who know the Law,
The Law binds as long as you live;
When confessing causes a flaw,
Allows the Father to forgive.
A married woman bound by Law,
To her husband while he lives;
But by death, she is free to call,
Another man she freely gives.
When she sleeps with another man,
While her husband is alive;
An adulteress will be her plan,
Till death or divorce would arrive.
You also have died to the Law,
Through the body of Jesus Christ;
Belong to another that would call,
To taste the fruit of God enticed.
For we live in sinful passions,
Bearing the fruit that is for death;
Aroused by the Law in fashion,
Being released after last breath.
Having died which held us captive,
No longer held to the old code;
New way in the Spirit to live,
Up in the heavenly abode.
