I thank God for giving me strength,
Through the Lord who is Jesus Christ;
Judged me faithful at any length,
Seeing how much I sacrificed.
For I was once a blasphemer,
And an insolent opponent;
For being a persecutor,
In having hate and discontent.
But I received mercy and grace,
Of an ignorant unbelief;
Jesus showed me my rightful place,
By giving spiritual relief.
The grace of the Lord overflowed,
With faith and love in Jesus Christ;
For the path of being hallowed,
No longer as earthly enticed.
This is worthy of acceptance,
That Christ came to save the sinners;
Knowing of my inheritance,
Makes the ones saved as the winners.
Chief of sinners foremost I am,
But got mercy for this reason;
The perfect patience of the Lamb,
Gave eternal life through the Son.
The King of Ages immortal,
The only wise God forever;
Invisible and eternal,
Because His reign will not sever.
