Do not love of this world,
Neither the things in it;
Love what will be unfurled,
By the Father’s merit.
If this world loved by man,
The Father is not in;
And could less of His plan,
Because of lust of sin.
In this world all that are,
For desires and pride;
Decay that leaves a scare,
Deception that has lied.
Desires of the eyes,
Also the pride of life;
Is evil in disguise,
Filled with toils and strife.
The world passes away,
Along with desires;
That causes one to stray,
What darkness acquires.
Who does the will of God,
Stays within forever;
Giving honor and laud,
With love that not sever.
