Put to death what’s earthly in you,
Impure and evil desire;
Remember unto God be true,
Heavenly thoughts to acquire.
Avoid any impure passion,
Because the wrath of God is near;
No sexual fornication,
Rather worship Him to revere.
For at one time, you had once walked,
When you were living within them;
The obscenities you had talked,
With blasphemy, He would condemn.
But you have to put them away,
The anger, malice, and slander;
Such action causes you to stray,
As you aimlessly meander.
Do not lie to one another,
Put off the old self far away;
Treat them as sister and brother,
Comforting them in what you pray.
With a new self that you put on,
Knowledge and wisdom are renewed;
And the old self shall them be gone,
A new attitude will be viewed.
For there will be no Jew or Greek,
No longer any free or slave;
For those of Heaven that they seek,
Shall be rescued out of the grave.
