He was oppressed and afflicted,
Yet His mouth had never opened;
Like a lamb who felt convicted,
From the knife that has been sharpened.
The lamb was led to the slaughter,
Sheep before its shearers silent;
Mouth not opened to drink water,
No rage to become violent.
Judgment has been taken away,
Oppressed for this generation;
Rather for those who went astray,
And are stricken with transgression.
He was cut off from the living,
Making His grave amongst the dead;
But His Father was forgiving,
Those with confession He has fed.
For He had done no violence,
From His mouth there was no deceit;
Those with faith have the acceptance,
He will be guaranteed to greet.
