Be subject unto your master,
With respect not just for the good;
Also the unjust sinister,
That does not seem as though it should.
This is a gracious thing for man,
When mindful of God endures grief;
Because of being in His plan,
Suffering will find its relief.
For what credit is when you sin,
And are buffeted for your faults;
Endured suffering to begin,
After when the punishment halts.
Even to this you have been called,
Because Christ had suffered for you;
And we should never be appalled,
Following in His steps are true.
He did not sin nor was deceit,
From Him when He was reviled;
His suffering caused not defeat,
Because He was not defiled.
For to Him who had judged justly,
He bore our sins on the tree;
Healing our scars righteously,
For eternal life as sin free.
For you are sheep going astray,
But soul returns to the shepherd;
When you adhere and will obey,
His voice calling you in the Word.
