You have followed my teaching,
My conduct and aim in life;
My faith and love far-reaching,
My patience coping with strife.
I endured persecutions,
Suffering that happened to me;
Although of the afflictions,
The Lord rescued to be free.
All who desire to live,
Of a godly life in Christ;
No more a sinful captive,
Earthly pleasures not enticed.
Evil men and seducers,
Be going from bad to worse;
Tempting to be deceivers,
Casting upon you a curse.
Continue in what you learned,
And what you firmly believe;
Salvation that you have earned,
Guaranteed you will receive.
Since childhood, you have known,
Acquainted with the Scriptures;
For your knowledge that has grown,
Promises greener pastures.
Scripture is breathed out by God,
Profitable for doctrine;
To avoid becoming flawed,
In a righteous discipline.
The man of God is complete.
Equipped for every good deed;
Persevered able to defeat,
All that Satan has decreed.
