Ostara's SongThe dawn is fast approaching As I climb weary from my bed. Visions of scattered dreams Still float about in my head. A nice, hot cup of tea, After a cleansing shower, Rejuvenates my senses, Energized by Eostra's power. My trusty dog at my side, We walk out to greet the day, And I say my morning prayer While watching the old girl play. I can spy the buds of Spring On flower, bush and tree, Green now overtaking This waking land I see. Bird's song fills the air once more, Jubilant hymns they sing, Calling forth the spirits To celebrate the Spring. What a glorious Ostara dawn! How blessed I am to see Mother Earth giving birth, Bringing life to all that be. Soon my son will be waking, Ready to begin Our festive celebration Of the bitter Winter's end. The colored eggs are waiting To be held in his tiny hands. May they bring to him the blessings Mother bestows upon Her clans. We will revel 'neath Sun Father, Me and my laughing son, Father's warm and comforting rays A mere taste of the days to come. But before my little one wakes, I will begin my personal rite To celebrate Ostara, To give thanks for the balancing light. I light a candle on my altar To burn throughout the day To remind me of the blessings I have received along the way. I ring my crystal bell And stir the old wind chimes To welcome Nature's children Into Spring's warmer climes. May they nod their approval As I till the soil today And plant the seeds of Imbolc, While over them I pray, May Goddess grant fertility To my garden small, That it may grow in abundance, Giving nourishment to us all. I, too, shall pray for balance In my craft and life, May I recall this calmimg peace In times of wretched strife. Thanks be given to Spirit, Blessings to family and friends. With humble adoration, My silent prayer now ends. As I finish my Ostara prayer, I hear the patter of little feet. I smile as my son joins me, Feeling peaceful and complete. He runs out into the sunlight, Pulling me along, His laughter the sweetest music, Which is Ostara's song. ... Moone Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
