Mysterious Ways
MYSTERIOUS WAYS
God made the tree
That made the wood
That made the fabled cross,
A God-made man-made
Instrument.
Another human loss.
God made the man
That gave the nod
That had him
Crucified.
A mother's son
Nailed up to die.
It wasn't God that cried.
And then he had him
Rise again.
What was this all about?
And was it only
Thomas who's
Belief was turned to doubt?
God made the world
And then made man,
He sent his only son,
But took him back
When things went wrong
And left the job half done.
