If anything is guaranteed in this life
Then it is surely just a load of misery and strife
Death is a surety for us all
And that for many is too close a call
Why can't our lives just simply be
Just happy, easy and carefree
Why do we always have to suffer
Why cant we just love one another
Where in the world can we go
To let every person know
That there can be love and peace today
We just have to show them the way
This world is too full of grief
I am sure there is another way
But pain comes in like a thief
And steals our joy today
But how to prove there can be happiness?
Beyond a shadow of doubt
How to prove that love can be expressed
Why do people lives have to be such a mess
Why is so hard to share laughter?
Why does there always have to have argument after?
Why does there have to be doubt and mistrust?
Why cant we just let our love be just?
Love is not such an easy word to say
And it is hard to live by every day
People come and people go
And do their best to hurt each other you know
Why they do this is tough
But at least knowing this is their only goal
Not knowing when enough is enough
It just torments my soul
