POETRY IN MOTION

No Tears

I never cried the day you died
Cos I knew you didn't mind.
You believed you'd go to a better place
Than the one you left behind.

I knew you knew your God was there
And Heaven your next port of call.
You'd no earthly debts and no regrets
When the time came and you got your call.

And what place for grief when your belief
Had the power to carry you through?
I knew your will would be there still
And Heaven there - if just for you.

                  I know you're up there and haven't a care
Yet my tears are beginning to flow
For I've only just thought now my time's getting short
                  I won't join you - I'm going below.
