Poetic-Verses-Awakening Spirits and Memories

Turn the Pain

 I remember it well
How it felt
How you made my heart swell
Only to melt
What it was to be in your arms
Safe, protected I thought, from harm
The warmth of you was my wall,
I knew you would catch me
If I should fall
But then you left
Leaving me alone and bereft
My heart pierced
All I felt was cold heavyness
Life was meaningless
I cried for you
Did you know?
Have you any idea?
Did you ever know?
When you made that decision to go
I was broken
A doll cast aside
But now, one too many tears have I cried
I picked myself up, mended the breaks
Knew I could face whatever I had to face
You made me stronger
You gave me strength
I have carried on with my life
Determination in my mind
To put aside this pain
I have buried it deep
No longer for you will I weep
For you gave me something
Though perhaps not your intent
I now know what love is
And when it is meant
So a gift you gave to me
And that I will treasure
Against that, the pain does not measure
I turned it around you see
I refused to live that way and be
Some one who died
So now I am really alive
Thanks to you.
I have learned to forgive
But I will never forget!
