Poetic-Verses-Awakening Spirits and Memories

Labour o f Love

I wrote this poem after the birth of my second son Benjamin two years ago.

Labour of Love

Yielding, pulsing, nearer and nearer.
Ranting, quickening, pain much clearer.
Round and ripe, my juice has flowed,
Dear to me that fruit once sowed.

Dizzy, giddy, now you come,
Warm and velvet my darling one.
Expectations now complete,
Tiny hands and dainty feet.

Thirsting rooting at my behest,
Latching on to a warming breast.
Tender, embracing, my love flows,
Stroking your hair as you suckle and doze.

Entwined together our needs are met,
The pulsating cord, that bonds us yet.
Twisting, turning, strong and true,
Cut that cord which nourished you.

Unfolding petals reveal knowing eyes,
Celestial blue, bejewelling guise.
Enchantment and wonder before me see,
Entwined within, but now set free.

Exultation, joyful gaze,
Watching all your tiny ways.
Sleep on my angel, take your rest,
Treasure from God, Oh how I'm blest.

Take my life, I give it free,
Everything fulfilled in thee.
Enrich my life with heartache and joy,
Yes, how I love my blue eyed boy.
