August moon

I was sitting outside
swinging on my swing
like I usually do
in my back yard
experiencing the
peaceful calm of the night
But this wasn't just
any ordinary night
This is the last night
for the August moon to shine
The stars appeared
like diamonds in the skies
and the moon was such a sight to see
because it was full and so radiant
My dogs seem'ed
to enjoy the peace
as we shared
the night together
It's just another night to them
and as always they are
looking for cats and mice
and maybe an occasional field rat
or a frog to entertain them
So I do find them to be
quite entertaining
Tomorrow will be
the beginning of
a new September morning
So I am going to
try to enjoy
this evening
while I can
