THE CHILD THAT SMILED
Today out riding on my bike
At a zebra crossing I stopped
For a mother and a little girl.
Across the road they hopped.
The mother, she said “Thank you”
And then the little child,
She turn her head to look at me
And then she sweetly smiled.
A great big beaming happy smile,
Both meaningful and cute,
It warmed from my very head
Right down into each boot.
A passing child, a passing smile,
And you may say ‘So what?'
But that just really made my day –
And won't be soon forgot.
