Remember that night in the park,
When we stayed and played after dark?
After dark and after hours,
After all, the world was hours.
How we let it all hang out
While spinning on the roundabout,
Climbed the steps up to the slide,
Swooped swiftly down the other side,
Side-by-side, swung on the swings,
Soared through the sky as if on wings,
And on the see-saw went to town,
Grown-up children, up and down,
Seen only by the old owl who
Sat on a branch and called woo-hoo!
Played hop-scotch on a moonlit grid:
"Beat ya!" "No you didn't!" "Did!"
Remember that night, remember the flames,
The last time we played children's games.?
