Coping with Grief
This is written for Mum
A week has gone so swiftly by
I can't keep track of time
It's been such a busy week
I haven't even had time to try
Try to understand the loneliness she feels
Live her life for even an hour
To sympathise with her loss
An empty vase of flowers
Her pain too deep
Takes all she is just not to weep
Draining her, and empty vessel sound
Echoing out, with no return found
She feels so lost
Doesn't quite know what to do
That now depression and negativity
Is surely an inevitability
And now it up to you
To try and pull her through
Hold her head up straight
Put her back on the path
She can not be allowed
To let herself wallow
Encouragement is a seed
Planted it will fill the need
But are you strong enough
Or will it just be too tough?
Will you have the patience to try
Or will you leave her lonely to cry?
It's not a duty to perform
Done purely because a soul cries out
I listen to the voice and I heed
Not turning my back
On someone so desperately in need
