Do You Remember?

Listen!
Can you hear what I hear?
The sound of Autumn in the
cool evening air.

From the back yard…
can your hear the crackling and
smell the aroma of the golden
Autumn leaves as they smolder
and burn.
Can you see…
the white smokes whirling as
it slowly rises and turns.

Can you hear…
the echoes of children’s
voices as they play in
Autumn’s last lingering
days.

As the harvest moon begins its
magical flight, can you hear the
neighborhood dogs barking in the
distant night.

Owls, bats, spiders, and black cats.
Pumpkin pie, yellow corn, apple
cider and Witches hats.

Back, back we go…
into our childhood days, where the sights,
sounds and smells of Autumn will always
linger in a mystical haze.
