Another day trapped in this little room
Confined to barracks by the non-stop rain,
Another victim of October's gloom,
To wonder if the sun will shine again.
Re-read a paper bought three days ago,
Forbidden by the rain to venture out,
Unfreeze a frozen pie bought months ago
And what I haven't got I go without.
Another cup of tea, another fag,
Just waiting for another day to end,
Another day to start, another drag
Through hours of Autumn drudgery to wend.
But why sit here and contemplate upon it?
Why not log on and post a bloody sonnet?
