Our Day Shopping
Yesterday my friend and I went
Out on a shopping trip.
A pleasant five hours was spent
That we really did have to get a grip!
A fancy top for evening wear
To match a skirt to make a pair
A jumper and two T.shirts
A belt to put on my skirt
Coffee stop for elevenses
Was a much needed break
So we could assess
The choices yet to make
A few styles we had in mind to buy
And more than a few clothes did she try
A top of blushing rosy pink
With a furry collar to make you think!
Skirts and tops of every description
All varieties of colour
But the main thing we didn't find
No tops of the orange coloured kind
We sought everywhere for a such a top
We went in every designer shop
But nowhere could we see
A top of orange "Oh Gee!"
So we stopped for lunch
A pleasant half an hour
So that we were now re-fuelled
Giving us more staying power
Many more shops we did visit
Until we were weary and tired
And still at the end of the day
No orange top had we acquired
So we headed back to Mum's
With goodybags in our hands
A welcome cuppa, an extended stay
To tell her of our shopping day
