I Can't Lie To MyselfI Can't Lie To Myself The moon hides among the clouds. The stars refuse to twinkle. A cold wind blows Chilling me right through. I need you for comfort, Putting your arm around me, Telling me I'm safe, Keeping the monsters away. But tonight; I'm alone. Scared and running in fear. Searching for you Even as the darkness Closes in on me. I'm calling your name Desperate to feel your touch. But I'm alone... Lost in the woods. I try to pretend Everything is normal Nothing ever happened We were never close But my heart knows It won’t be fooled My soul remembers It can’t be deceived I tell my arms They never held you I tell my lips You never kissed them To no avail, though My entire body Cries out the truth We DID touch We HAVE kissed And I miss it God, how I miss it If only he knew... What I feel in my heart The longing in my soul To hear his voice To see his smile If only he knew... What he's awakened inside The long forgotten dreams Just to be alive again To have faith To dare to hope If only he knew... What seeing him does The joy he gives Just by being near To chase away the clouds To bring out the sun If only he knew... What I could give him The world on a string Just my heart To care about him To care for him If only he knew... What could be The relationship possible Just he and I Two of us Together If only he knew... I Can't Lie To Myself Lubaina Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
