The Picture on My Wall

SultryRose's Signatures

Those soft eyes looking down on me
Sending thoughts out to set me free
Dark shades of hazel
Golden green

Look far into their depths
For his fiery passion
Is there for me
A passion that has to be seen

You have to look and try
To reach the deep bottom of his eyes,
Lying hidden in inky depths
The purity of his soul

Only there will you come to know
Find your own self, and the love
He could show
To make you complete and whole

Speak and then listen to the reply
Listen to his words sigh
Heavily on the nights breeze
To lull you into peaceful sleep

He is an enchanter of dreams
And nothing he does ever seems real
But his heart will cause you to heal
If you surrender yourself to his eyes

The arrogant tilt of the head
The confidence of youth
His dark hair caught upon the wind
In locks that curl in velvet blackness

Loose hanging the pendant at his throat
Purest azure and gold caught to float
And gently come to rest
On the broad expanse of golden chest

Beads of red ochre and blue
The guardian of his spirit
Adorn his head with feather tipped white
To lie amid the blackness

The softness of his mouth
Full lipped and sensitive
Shaped like a bow
With a tenderness I would like to know

Sometimes I become aware
Of the intensity of his stare
It is almost as if he calls out to me
From the emptiness of his frame

So I sit and study him for a while
And waste a few hours wondering
What he would be like if he were real
Would my heart he try to steal

But he is after all
Just a picture on my wall
To sit and watch me as I type away
He looks over and guards me every day

Fear not to dream...
For I am the dream maker...
Dream great dreams...
And they will come true...
