Time keeps passing by ever so quickly
And most of my friends have left me behind
to that special place in the sky
I keep asking myself why
And then I ask myself
Why do I feel so alone inside
as I am sitting here in my chair
while silence takes over and I begin
to reminisce about the days in the past
when my life was filled with many friends
And whats so amazing is that I can still hear the laughter and joy deep in my memory that was shared
Mom and Dad are up in that special place in the sky too
The phone never rings anymore.
And most of the time
all I ever get in the mail are bills and the occasional flyers
The few friends I have now are scarce
And they seem to be busy with there own lives now
And at times I feel like an orphan all over again
I have my moments when
loneliness consumes my empty heart
And the companionship I once shared
with many friends
has left an empty void in my soul
And now that they are gone to that special place in the sky
silence seems to surround my daily activities
Time keeps passing by ever so quickly
My only wish now is
that in the coming days weeks and months
that the new year will take away the loneliness that I feel inside
And fill the emptiness I have had
with an abundance of positive emotions
Embraced with a hug and a gentle kiss
And more importantly
genuine love. I dont just wish this for me
I wish it for all the lonely people in the world.
