It doesn't need a sonnet to describe
The way I feel about you so you'll know,
Fourteen lines of fluffy diatribe
With lah deh dahs all standing in a row.
It doesn't need a Shakespeare or a Keats,
To say exactly what is in my heart,
To tell you how excitedly it beats
When thinking of you though we're far apart.
No poet ever has or ever will
Write more sincerely what I have to say,
Not even with black ink and feathered quill.
I really think that lot have had their day!
I only need three words, and these are they:
I LOVE YOU. (But you knew that anyway).
