AS YOU ARE
Nobody is perfect.
We all know this is true.
Nobody could ever be,
Not even - strangely - you.
Everyone has foibles
That will come into view
When they are least expected.
That must apply to you.
Everyone has weaknesses,
A lot of them or few.
I think that's why we're human,
I think that's why you're you.
And everybody nonetheless
Is someone else's star.
Your minuses I'll overlook
And love you as you are.
