"These things are sent to try us", so we're told
And so our moral fibre's put to test
To find out whether we are week or bold -
And wonder what direction is the best.
Then on our own we have to contemplate,
For no one gives the answers that we seek.
And we can't simply leave it up to fate,
Humility should never make us meek.
So inner strength is what we must produce
A strength of heart and strength of soul combined,
And having found it, put it to good use -
And bravely tilt the windmills in our mind.
When those who test us know how we have tried
And seen we're worth it - then we'll get our guide.
