He wanted her to love him oh so much
To love him just as much as he loved her
He wanted her to have, to hold, to touch,
To be the one she always would prefer.
He bought her gifts and wrote her bits of rhyme,
Took her places that she loved to see,
He showed he thought about her all the time,
Wherever she was happy so was he.
She loved him too, and really was so glad
His feelings for her were, in fact, the same.
Without him loneliness would drive her mad
But happiness welled up each time he came.
And when he found out, he felt such a pr*t.
"Wow!" He said, "Why didn't I think of that?"
