Sister Susan, the painting nun,
Started doodling just for fun
But when she found she had the skill
To draw and paint so well at will,
She took the hobby up full time.
The others thought it was a crime.
They spent all of every day
In isolation and at pray.
Their lives got holier and duller
While she was splashing on the colour.
The better she got, they got drearier,
Complained a lot to the mother superior
And Sister Susan had an ultimatum -
Either pray with the nuns or paint 'em.
The choice for her was pretty simple,
She handed in her gown and wimple,
Put her Rosary beads way
And left the convent one fine day.
Now instead of a puny salary,
She's paid a fortune by a gallery.
Her love of God still fills her heart
And God looks down and likes her art!
