My Sweet English RoseMy Sweet English Rose Brenda is her name She was born in Norwich that is where she became A lady ,of grace, poise, Witt and charm , All though in the early days She was a tomboy and would twist your arm As the years go by she loses that way She becomes a young lady more every day Her body matured and shapes in the right place She enters a beauty contest ,she still pure and chaste Then to Australia to find her fortune and fame She had mum, dad ,sister and brother came They landed in Melbourne where i lived as well When i first spoke to her my heart did swell I met her at the place we both worked for She captivated me when she walked through the door I made up my mind to marry her that day And was determined to get her to say ,yes i do Oh Bob! how much i love you too We were married in December nineteen sixty five At last i was living and feeling ,so --alive Then we had our first born a son that gave us glee A beautiful baby boy six pounds thirteen was he Andrew is his name and to this day We love and respect him so, in every way Then our second born came along and to us was a jewel So we called her Julie she was so beautiful and cool And our love for her will never go away And we thank the lord for that fateful day Now Forty years have past and Brenda and i have parted Though we are not together i am not down hearted I love her forever,, and will till my dying day Now our Lord Has taken Her to his Kingdom,, to stay Bob William Raisbeck February 18th 2005 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
