Wolf 511...My last Breath
(TRUE STORY)
I was once a mighty wolf
living free and wild in the mountains of New Mexico.
The ranchers there seemed to think I was a nuisance
Only because I had a family to feed and take care of.
These humans would put us into boundary lines
Making us follow them while we hungered.
They seemed to think that we knew the difference in food,
Cow, sheep, deer, they all were the same to us.
We are only animal, We live and survive on what our instinct is,
We do not think like man we think like animals that was natures plan.
Our instinct is to run and survive the wild as we know it,
But Man got tired of us and starting tracking my pack,
knowing they had enough of us we backtracked.
We went back to the mountain range where we thought we were safe
Oh how wrong we were as we walk through the desert sage.
They caught my mate in a snare trap and took him away,
I had to leave my pups behind, the sadness I felt when we parted ways.
I ran and ran as fast as I could, to be the only one left in this lonely unsafe world.
Why would they give us freedom to take it away, I ask myself with these words.
A few weeks later there they were I was caught and taken away,
I was put into a dark empty pen, where I would never be free again.
They have taken my spirit and strength and wasted my soul,
I have now turned around to only lay down on this cold hard floor.
I take my last breath as I am done here on this earth.
knowing that the time I have spent was for their experiment.
My spirit is with my mate and we will run together once again,
Forever laying in the grass under the trees of Aspen
This is our Last Breath.............howl
