the president spoke last night: about our continuing war and fight: he told us to go about our business as usual: even though the FBI put us on alert full: we were told intelligence reports have put us on high alert against terrorist these next few days: it left me feeling cloudy and hazed: how can one go out and travel,and worry not about an attach: we know these evil powers only wish to pay us back: at night i find little sleep:when my worry is far from shallow and so deep: im anxious to get up in the morning to turn on the radio,and i hope i hear nothing new: that is the first thing i must do: when i know nothing new is reported, i can then go along with my day: and for america and the world,for god to protect us from the evil of terrorism i pray: in america we stand every child, woman and man: we will protect america all together we can: we will watch over our land as we have never done before: america we will watch her from shore to shore: we now may be at heightened security: but we are america land of the free: the president asked the children of america to lend a dollar to help feed the starving children of afaganistan: together from coast to coast the children of america,will lend a hand: our children will learn compassion and love: and the blessing from god above: our children will come to know: love and kindness to all others show: our children will live and grow: in a warm loving glow: our children will learn to live in peace: and set the example to the world at least: written: 12 october 2001: jdj
