Upon the steep and winding mountain trails I trod,
in search of the answers that have eluded me,
I sit amongst the pines and ponder all that bothers me,
no answers seem to jump out at me.
I wonder about the tragedies that have recently occured,
and how those unfortunate, misplaced folks will ever be the same,
pondering how I can be of help to those hurting people.
My thoughts return to those horrific pictures,
plastered on my T.V. screen,
and thank the good Lord that so many survived,
I bow my head in silence to pray for those who lost their lives,
and for all that the good folks of New Orleans and Mississippi lost.
I pray that all will soon be well,
and that life shall return to normal for them all,
for the people suffering there I seek the Lord's merciful help,
and pray that the country shall kick in and do that which is right.
I know that we can all give our countrymen a helping hand,
with money and food and water too,
and I thank God that we have the means,
to help our fallen neighbors down south.
One last thought crosses my mind,
that America has shown her love for its own,
and shall do all to make that region rise up through this tragedy,
to be better than before.
My southern friends my heart pours out its love to you,
my best wishes are with the people of the region,
take cheer my friends for your country has not forgotten you,
and shall rise up with its generosity to see you be raised up,
to be a glorious community once again,
keep the faith and keep on fighting,
for someday soon all shall be well.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
