dreams ethereal street
it is said
that whilst in your bed
that people you meet in your dreams
but all is not as it seems
for whilst it is so
that caught up in whirling mists
that some dreams go
to take another twist
they take you on a journey
where you would rather not go
a world of mystery
and places too shadowy to know
you wake, thoughts disturbed
your mind in a turmoil
such it is the rest of the day
becomes burdensome, spoilt
heavy of heart
melancholy of mind
drained of all your energy
such is dream's synergie
why to feel this way
is it just the dreamer's play
or is there more to behold
when the night is so cold?
do we meet
to take the night away
where do our thoughts and energy
stray?
is our life force spent
on lonely nights hence
thinking of what went on
in dreams that are gone?
who, and why do we meet
whilst in dreams so sweet?
are they really there
or is in the mind in retreat?
such are questions
and I often wonder why
do we really meet others
on a dreamland's ethereal street?
I hope so!
