BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Your beauty is a truly wondrous thing,
Soft and gentle yet exciting, too,
Like a feather from an angel's wing,
A meadow sparkling in the morning dew.
Yet stirring like a sunbeam through dark clouds
And moving as the journey of a stream,
As mystic as the door a shadow shrouds,
As unbelievable as any dream.
Atop a figure fashioned with such care,
More graceful than was Venus in her prime.
Like all men, I must stand a stare;
The sweetest ever mortal of all time.
But I despair when I behold you thus.
I'm married to the back end of a bus.
