he threw me his keys
it was graduation night:
almost the end of daylight:
i was gonna go out,hang out with my friends,we were gonna take my car:
but it wouldn't start,we didn't get very far:
my neighbor bob,threw his car keys across the street:
my friends thought that was pretty neat:
they couldn't believe my neighbor had that much trust in me:
they couldn't believe he would let me use his car free:
but he did,he threw his car keys across the street:
then walked over to see my friends and meet:
he told my friends i could drive his brand new car:
he didn't care where i went,or how far:
he wanted to show my friends,the deep trust in me he had:
bob my neighbor,made me a proud lad:
finally got my car going with a jump:
had some jumper cables in the trunk:
so we were off graduation night,and on our way:
didn't return home until next day:
i will always remember how impressed my friends were:
of my neighbor bob-for sure:
