A Prayer To God

Where is the love these days?
Where did it go?
Was it just a fad or phase?
I guess we will never know.

What happened to caring
To compassion and having a heart.
For one to be so daring,
At doing their own part.

Violence and death I see on TV
Through all hours of the night.
Even during daylight reading
I see victims of the fright.

I see terror in people's eyes
Hate and disgust are there too.
I pray for God to hear my cries
Because all I can think about is you.

Oh God hear my pleas
Before it is too late.
Save us from our own deadly seas
Of terror disgust and hate.

Help us learn to love
Each and everyone.
With a little help from up above,
I know it could be done.
