 Sleeping in the Linen Closet
This is a true story which happened to my future son in law........ he is training in the Royal Navy.

sleeping in the linen closet

It's not something I usually do
I'd like to assure you
a night out with the lads
a drink too many I fear

a visit to  the 'jon'
when I returned they'd gone
locked the door and bolted
no matter how hard I shoved and jolted

I shouted and banged on the door
but no one was sober
enough to hear my call
and I wasnt going to sleep on the floor

dressed in only boxers and a bedsheet
I had to find somewhere to sleep
cos I wasnt gonna spend the night
sleeping on my feet

The nearest place of sanctuary
was a linen cupboard down the hall
and golly gracious heavens
it fit, though I'm kinda tall

So I snuggled in nice and cosy
and got me head down for the night
hoping no one would find me
cos it would give em a fright
