The Day After Yesterday
This is written on behalf of a very good friend of mine who is finally coming to a phase in her life of being able to move away from her pain!
"The Day After Yesterday"
Is the day I started to move
the day after yesterday
is the day I started to prove
that I could get out of this groove
a groove I'd decided to settle
in, cos it was nice and cosy
I'd settled in it cos
my life wasnt so rosy
for years I've been stuck
in this cosy groove
but then I realised
I was stuck unable to move
I couldnt go anywhere
cos I was stuck behind a wall
but I realised that it was now
totally my call
for too many years
I've been closed in a bubble
for too many years
curled in a painful huddle
so now is the time
for me to come out
now is the time
for my feeling to shout
I got up from my couch
I stood up straight
and stopped my shoulders
from their stooped slouch
The day after yesterday
is the start of something new
today is the start
of a brand new way
