Loneliness

I walk in the shadows of my loneliness
day after endless day
and I feel cast astray in a lonely land
Its always comforting
to have someone to share each and every day with
but yet I am sure you have felt the same way
at one time or another in your life
The days seem to be getting longer and longer
And I wonder why I feel so alone inside
I know there are a few people in my life
that remind me that they care
But its still hard day in and day out
watching the sun rise and watching it fall
being alone most of the time
And I have to remind myself
that there are so many other people
that feel the same way that I do
They just want to be hugged every once and awhile
and be reminded how special life is
But loneliness does have a way
that eats at us from the inner core of our souls
So I just want to say to all of you in the world who are lonely
Bear with me and understand
Maybe there are hidden underlying lessons to be learned first
Through every chapter there is always something new
to learn and comprehend
as a hidden lesson
in order to move on and to accept
the new challenges that are ahead of us
I am thankful I have pets they do help me get through the day
And I appreciate the special people in my life to
But there is nothing like human companionship
