Poetic-Verses-Awakening Spirits and Memories

ALMOST TOUCHED

In touching reach the leaves of the trees,
Hanging down in limp docility!
They have done their show,
They have had their day,
Now is the time for winds to blow.

They flutter madly in the breeze,
Tossed about from side to side!
Greenish grey in diffused light,
Moonlight beam and standard lamp.

Touching edges of individual leaf!
Reflection of droplets as summer's end weeps,
The leaves curl up, crisp now with autumn's turn,
Bringing icy winds to burn!

The tree she shuts her eyes, withdraws in sleep,
She doesn't see the snowdrift deep.
All throughout winter, she'll stand alone and bare…
Whilst I sit and watch without a care!

Remembering when she was green, in full bloom,
Forgetting winter comes all too soon.
So now her leaves reflect all the light,
Which shines out from windows; lighting up the night!

An eerie mystical glow is cast,
Whilst I sit here encased in glass!
I could lift up my hand I'm sure,
They're almost within my reach!
