parachutes are dangerous
well folks, this poem is yet another of those find a story to end with a pre-set line, a challenge laid down by my dear friend,who for her sanity shall remain nameless, but she knows who she is!!! Hope you like it!
It was a secret mission they were told
Ten men, brave and bold
Lean of body sound of mind
They were sent out to save mankind
An evil baron had a plan
He'd sent out overland to scan
A plot to overthrow all the realm
With him in control at the helm
Hostages he held
Government ministers from the house of lords
All the earthly princes and kings
He gathered them into his evil ring
Convinced them by subtle trick
So he could control everything bit by bit
Only one man was left to fight the day
He was not convinced by evil's way
So he gathered ten men brave and true
But sadly they really didn't have a clue
Their only aim was to save the land
That was what action man planned
Plans were laid, the plane did fly
Ten men up into the sky
One fell out half way there
Two others were just too scared
The fourth one's parachute tore in two
The fifth? Well he fell into the blue
Number six he didn't do much better
‘Cos he fell in the sea and got a whole lot wetter
Number seven, he got stuck in trees
And number eight he landed and broke both knees
So now only two were left to complete the mission
Nine fell onto an old broken television
So now brave lad we're counting on you
The only one left of the brave and the few
You're the only who can save the day
You'd best get going on your way
So number ten, he jumped out the plane
Determination strong in his heart, like a flame
He alone would save the land
Or at least that is what he planned
His ‘chute wouldn't open, it was stuck fast
I think he knew he'd jumped his last
His fate was sealed, the end was dire
As he parachuted, roaring into the bonfire
