Poetic-Verses-Awakening Spirits and Memories

At Water's Edge

Sitting on the sand
Alone at night
I listen to water swishing at my feet
And pretend that all is all right

The moonlight glistens
On the water's edge
I hear night sounds coming
In from across the street

I can't shut them out
Too much noise about
Go away! Leave me
To the peaceful tranquillity

Of the blackened night sky
Who are they?
To make so much noise
Where is it they go and why?

Loud buzzing of cars
As they whizz up and down
Tyres screeching
Sirens screaming

All I want is to be allowed
To sit and listen
And watch the dark clouds
And feel the rain on my skin

To touch the sky
And speak to the moon
To call out to the stars
Which seem just that bit too far

All I seek is solitude
Away from the mad crowd
All I need is soul's peace
Amidst the ocean ‘s night clouds

To soothe the trouble soul
To sit at water's edge
In truth I remember too!
I will think on you

As I sit at water's edge
Together we did pledge
That forever is too long
And we can't sing the water's song
