Oh! Catherine, I wish I could remove,
All your heartache and pain!
But what would it gain?
What would it prove?
I am not God..!
With any power to help…!
I'm just a miserable human whelp!
Who like you…?
Runs crying to my God!
When everything gets too much…
For this sad lonely bod!
Because I am hurting…!
Miserable, in pain,
I too have deep seated anger…which came…
From others who were unthinking!
So floored by their evil, I sit unblinking!
I hear you;
I understand your pain and tears!
I can do nothing because I cannot I fear…
Do anything for myself, because I too am…
Tied up in a hopeless useless knot!
So I can only listen to you…
And empathize!
And watch you cry your tears,
From red-rimmed eyes!
I can do nothing to help you!
And this just makes me feel useless and blue!
I too cry at your pain!
And I can feel that stone,
Cold and fierce in my heart…!
It weighs so heavy and burns...
To the bone!
I want to do something because…
I'm sad you are like me…
So alone!
But I am like you…
You are like me…
We both fail to reason why…
We just cannot see!
The picture for us…
Is not finished yet!
There are still...
Quite a few pieces…
For us to get!
So Catherine…
We both must plod on each day,
In our sad and weary way…!
Because I am convinced…!
In the seat of my soul,
That you are strong!
And will reach your goal!
But meanwhile how can I…?
Help you to understand,
There is a reason for this…
Everything is planned!
We both of us...
Have lessons to learn…
So why do we continue...
To hanker and yearn?
There are so many pieces…
On that road to collect,
We have to pick them all,
We cannot choose or select…
All of them fit…
Into that puzzling picture,
We just have to find out...
Where we feature!
You and I are traveling,
Seemingly alone on that path,
Yet both of us know…
We can lean on God's staff!
I have traveled this path …
You are now struggling on,
And I know how painful it can be…
Just believe me…
One day you will look back,
Your footsteps will be gone…
From that track!
You have walked the path this far,
And learnt the lessons it gave,
Soon your pain and heartache…
You will give a farewell wave!
So take comfort from this poem,
Just for you I send,

On the mend!
God will help you on the path…
You have to travel.
