A day at the lake

My day started at the lake
and I found myself wandering
along the beaten path
to explore all the beauty
that nature had to offer me
It was a little warm outside
so I decided to take my shoes and socks off
and to roll my pant legs up
and wade in the waters
and I was surrounded
by a circle of protection
with rings of water surrounding me
vivid beauty enticed my imagination
and a reflection of clouds
off the water
were breath taking
And the water was filled
with an abundance of energy
from the warm sun cascading up above me
I could look up into the skies
on this particular day
and be mesmerized in a beautiful way
There was a slight touch of wind
just enough to be refreshing
The wind
filled the air
with beautiful fragrances
from the wild flowers
that were growing in the meadow
And shadows filled the landscape
from the full trees that carpeted the grass
with a coolness of shade
On this particular day
I was feeling a little bit under the weather
Because there was an element that is missing
on such a beautiful day
And that is being able to share it with someone
who can appreciate it as much as I can
in a very special way
Nature and water
ducks and turtles
butterflies and bees
birds and squirrels
and coyotes
and rabbits and
all the other beautiful
things that were created by Gods hands
have always embraced my heart and soul with a passion
And it all has a way of taking us
into a different realm
away from the norm
of every day living.
where warmth and comfort can soothe our souls.
If only for a moment
Frozen in time
with the beauty of nature.
